Great piece of insight. As a former IBM employee (worked at the Las Colinas branch in the early 80s) I can tell you that they were just an amazing company to work for, but it was also easy to see how they really needed Lou Gerstner to come in and reinvigorate the company and some of their out-dated ideas about their prominence in the marketplace.

Still love the Big Blue though, but I never liked the required panty hose, navy or khaki skirt and white blouse.
